Nomfundo Matlala – CEO of Marche Media

Nomfundo is a Senior Brand and Media strategist currently serving as CEO at Marche Media. Nomfundo believes that insights and analytical skills are not only a fundamental part of strategic excellence, but are also the building blocks of critical thinking when building lasting relationships with consumers. In addition to managing the film and television business of Marche Media, she continues to contribute with strategic leadership for the National Film and Video Foundation as a Council member. 

During her earlier years in brand development at Unilever and Woolworths, she was recognised for her excellence in digital executions and growing market share. She holds a BA in Motion Picture Medium from AFDA, Cape Town from 2007 and multiple business related certificates related to brand building, development and digital strategy.

Ella is Vice President of Marketing for multinational communications market leader WPP Plc. Responsible for experience multi-channel marketing strategies that reflect and promote the 100,000+ group employees in 112 countries. Ella joined WPP in 2009 as Director of the WPP Innovation camp Stream, building out an international programme of sponsored events, named by WIRED as “One of the World’s Best Technology Conferences”. In 2019 Ella took the management responsibility of WPP brand events and broader marketing remit; launching WPP at the tradeshow CES; and creating ‘WPP TV’, a live-broadcast platform for WPP. Recognised as a ‘Young Global Shaper’ by the World Economic Forum; Ella has lived and worked in New York and London.

Sarah Baldock | CEO of be-good

Her track record for developing deep engagement and powerful live communications strategy for corporate stakeholders is unparalleled. For the past 12 years she has used her experience in theatre, television & live production to activate communities in the digital age, for an impressive roster of clients around the world. be-good produce innovative live and virtual communication solutions for a range of fortune 500 Hundred companies including; WPP, Google, LinkedIn, Ipsos MORI, Kantar, British Airways and Coca-Cola to name a few. Over 12 years Sarah and her team have produced numerous large scale live events in exciting locations around the world from their base in London.  As a business they are known for their creative, holistic approach to event design to deepen audience engagement and generate participation.

Genius Phila Mnywabe – Marketing Manager and Brand Specialist

Genius is a passionate 360 marketing professional with 15 years’ experience in the brand management arena. He has diverse industry experience including retail, agency-advertising, FMCG and financial services. His most memorable work to date was the Oude Meester campaigns, partnering with international super stars Jamie Foxx and Idris Elba, Genius was the Marketing Manager for Oude Meester and oversaw the strategy development and rollout of both of these campaigns. He also lead the team credited with repositioning Klipdrift brandy  into a contemporary urban brand. He currently applies his trade at Sanlam Private Wealth as their Marketing Manager. Genius is well versed in strategy, product development, experiential marketing and digital integration.  

Luke Potter - Events, Sponsorship, CRM Specialist and Entrepreneur

Luke is a proven marketing leader with over 20 years of experience in sales, eventing, sponsorships and experiential eventing. Luke has held management positions in International liquor companies Distell and South African Breweries (SAB) specialising in eventing, sponsorship and CRM. He has led both eventing and sponsorship teams nationally and has also managed  the consumer relationship program (CRM) for Distell. Luke has led sponsorship and event management teams to oversee various liquor sponsorships at festivals such as Ultra Music Festival, Cape Town Jazz Festival, Sevens International Rugby and the fan zones at The FIFA International Soccer World Cup. Luke is still part of the marketing team at Distell and most recently has been supporting various liquor brands with digital experiential projects during lockdown.

Before joining the liquor giant SAB, Luke founded and successfully ran a national experiential marketing and events agency. He is still an avid entrepreneur and is the founder and director of an online sports boutique store which delivers unique consumer journeys and online experiences.

Marisa Logan - Digital Marketing Strategist, PR Specialist & Podcast Host

Marisa is a digital marketing strategist and podcast host, with over 14 years of international public relations, digital marketing and social media experience. Marisa founded Stream to pursue her passion for supporting start-ups and solopreneurs accelerate brand awareness and scale their businesses online, through specialised workshops, online Courses and personal strategy consulting.

Marisa has international experience working both in South Africa and in London with iconic brands Samsung, the London Summer Olympics and Universal Pictures to name a few. Marisa also founded and managed an award-winning boutique PR agency in Cape Town, Butter Knife PR. Her agency managed accounts such as the Australian retail giant The Cotton On Group and worked with international liquor brands Glenfiddich, Grant’s and The Balvenie.
